Sony announces two new CCD image sensors. The ICX688SQG is an Industry First Digital Output CCD Image Sensor with all the circuitry included to deliver a 12-bit digital output signal. Inclusion of analog circuits and wiring inside the package has made it possible to maximize CCD performance, minimize power consumption and reduce noise. Sharp and NHK to introduce 85-Inch 33 Mp LCD

Sharp and NHK have developed an 85-inch LCD compatible with Super Hi-Vision, a next-generation television broadcast format. This is a world first for a direct-view display that features approx. 33 megapixels (7680 x 4320 pixels), or 16 times the resolution of today’s HDTV systems. The new LCD offers a brightness of 300 cd/m2 and 10 bits for each RGB color. This LCD will be shown at the Science & Technology Research Laboratories in Tokyo this weekend. Don’t wait for it though as the technology will not be market ready before 2020…

The new Hasselblad H4D-200MS multi-shot camera delivers 200 megapixel image files. As a further development of the H4D-50MS technology, the 200MS utilizes Hasselblad’s patented piezo frame module, which can now captures 6 shots and combines them into an astounding 200 megapixel file.
