To your destination, Yoda direct you can

With more than a few Star Wars nerds here at CNET Towers, our collective interest was piqued when TomTom made Darth Vader available as a celebrity VoiceSkin for its GPS navigators. When protocol droid C-3PO was announced as the second voice, we thought, “Come on, nobody likes 3PO!”

Turn left, you must!

Now TomTom has released the voice package that we’ve all been waiting for, Jedi Master Yoda. Unfortunately, our other dream guides, Chewbacca and R2-D2, don’t speak English.

That’s right, you can now get your turn-by-turn directions read to you in the most confusing way possible thanks to Yoda’s Germanic speech pattern, sporadic grunting and gravelly Muppet-like voice. The Master Yoda VoiceSkin is available on TomTom’s Star Wars micro-site for AU$17.50.

Check out the video below for a look at TomTom’s tongue-in-cheek recording session with Master Yoda.
