Amazon drops Kindle price
by edit@cnet.com.au (Pam Carroll)Good news for those who want to curl up by the fire with a good digital book this winter - the e-reader pricing wars are starting to heat up. Amazon has just trimmed the price of the Kindle by US$70, from US$259 to US$189. At today’s exchange rate (AU/US $0.88) that makes the Kindle price for Australians around AU$215.
With this cut, the Kindle becomes more price competitive with Borders new entry into the Australian market, the Kobo eReader, which currently retails for AU$199.
