As well as Australia, Sony’s e-reader will also be made available in Japan, China, Spain and Italy, but so far, that’s all we know.

Sony Australia confirmed that the device is coming, but said that it didn’t have any more information. A launch date, which model(s) of the current line-up (pictured above) will be available, possibly a Sony ebook store, and pricing are to be announced at a later date.

Sony’s e-readers, first launched way back in 2006, are currently available in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.

Do you think all three models will be made available? Will you be interested in purchasing one, even if the device comes with a 100 per cent Australia Tax* price mark-up?

*This is not a real thing. We make the joke, yes?
