Apart from releasing clever digital SLR remotes for the iPhone, onOne makes a number of plug-ins for Adobe and Apple products in order to help photographers address the most common imaging issues in their workflow. Plug-In Suite 5 is the latest collection of tools bundled into one retail package that sells for AU$589, or AU$239 for an upgrade and academic version.

All the tools in the suite are compatible with Adobe Photoshop, from CS2 through to the recently released CS5, and with the exception of Mask Pro 4, they are also compatible with Adobe Lightroom 2 and Apple Aperture 2.1. The suite is compatible with 64-bit Mac and Windows systems. Regardless of what platform or program you use, you will still need Photoshop running in the background for the Plug-In Suite to work.

The suite includes the following packages, which are also available separately:

Genuine Fractals 6: a package suitable for enlarging images that are too small for print and photographic use. It uses separate interpolation algorithms to Photoshop enlargement tools to allow photographers to increase an image size to over 1000 per cent without loss of sharpness or detail.

PhotoFrame 4.5: a simple tool that can be used to add edge and framing effects to photographs.

PhotoTools 2.5: PhotoTools can apply different photographic effects to images, and create batch processing tools to automate favourite adjustments to multiple images at once.

FocalPoint 2: choosing an area of the image for selective focus is what this tool covers, and adjusts the brightness or darkness of blur edges. It cannot, however, add in focus to an area that was originally shot out of focus.

PhotoTune 3: this tool is for colour correction, including adjustments specifically designed for skin-tone correction.

Mask Pro 4.1: this component of the suite removes unwanted backgrounds from images. It simplifies masking options as found in Photoshop and also makes it easier to work with transparent masks.
