iPrimus prices its Tassie NBN services
by edit@cnet.com.au (Suzanne Tindal)iPrimus has released pricing for its first National Broadband Network services, revealing an introductory offer covering broadband, calls and line rental for under $50.
Customers in the NBN towns of Smithton, Scottsdale and Midway Point can order the new broadband plans from today, but services won’t come online until 30 June.
The plans start at $39.95 per month for 15GB (5GB of data between 10am to 2am and 10GB off peak) when combined with a phone on a 12- or 24-month contract. Telephone plans start from $24.95 per month, with local and national calls included. Shaping is used after the limit is reached.
iPrimus has also announced an introductory offer, flogging plans for half price for the first six months on a 24-month plan - this comprises calls, line rental and broadband for $44.97 a month. A free wireless router is also included, although users have to cough up for postage and handling.
“We’re particularly excited that our customers will have access to a wide range of new capabilities and advanced services using this new generation high-speed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network. This is a key milestone in Australian communications history and we are proud to be part of it,” Primus CEO Ravi Bhatia said.
The full range of plans will be available on the iPrimus website later today, according to the company.
Exetel recently announced its fibre-to-the-home pricing, while iiNet and Internode have also given indications of what they will be charging.
