A Tesla Roadster run in this year’s Global Green Challenge between Darwin and Adelaide has smashed the record for the longest distance travelled by an electric car on a full charge, but it had to be driven at an excruciatingly slow pace.

Following the first endeavors by Omnivision and Sony, Toshiba now announces a new CMOS image sensor with 14.6 million pixels and back-side illumination (BSI) technology. In traditional image sensors the light entering the sensor is blocked by the wires, degrading the overall light sensitivity. In this BSI technology the lenses are attached to the back side of a substrate and deliver light directly to the photodiodes, without any interference from wiring. As a result, the light sensitivity and overall performance are boosted…

While a few tweaks such as an in-built wireless receiver for keyboard/mouse and a video input so it could double as a monitor for your laptop would be nice, if you’re looking for a cheap all-in-one PC, it’s hard to ignore the Vostro 320 as an option.

The K50AB is a typical mid-range laptop that looks good, but the in-built GPU-switching feature doesn’t save on battery at all. We’d suggest looking elsewhere for your mid-range needs.
