We never thought that we’d describe a camera as cute, but we were wrong - the S220 is quite possibly the cutest little compact you can buy, with striking good looks for a relatively low asking price. It’s letdown by the lens quality though, which detracts from the overall prettiness of the package.

Hybrids aren’t the only way to improve fuel efficiency. Scuderi Group unveiled a cutaway of its Split-Cycle Engine prototype at the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) 2009 World Congress in Detroit. The new design is the first major change in engine dynamics since its creation 130 years ago, says Bill Wren, representative for the family-run start-up.
