Pentax announces the 12 Mp X70 Megazoom digital camera which features a 24X optical zoom lens with wide-angle to super-telephoto coverage housed in a portable, compact, lightweight body. With its SLR-like styling and flexible exposure modes, the X70 should bridge the gap between compact digital cameras and digital SLRs, and offers you shooting options such as aperture/shutter priority and metered manual modes, true hardware sensor-movement Shake Reduction and fast operation. Sony unveils the 9 Mpl Cyber-shot HX1, offering 20x optical zoom and a list of creative features. At the heart of the HX1 is the new Sony-developed “Exmor” CMOS sensor to deliver outstanding images with reduced noise when shooting in high ISO. Capturing landscapes, church spires or skyscrapers is as easy as “press and sweep”, where wide and ultra-wide settings in horizontal or vertical directions, can take up to 224-degree horizontal or 154-degree vertical shots.
