Nikon Coolpix 7900
by jamesI have a Coolpix 7900 and I am trying to take a picture of an 18″ x 24″ print. I have umbrella lights and I turn all the lights out in the room. I am not using a flash. But the picture I take come out dark. What am I doing wrong? What equipment do I need to make this work? I am trying to do something that this camera will not handle?

If you have umbrella lighting which is continuous, I am quite dumbfound on why the picture is coming out dark. Unless the picture is predominantyly “white” and fooling the ttl sensoring, I can’t see why this is happening. Maybe you have your ECC set below 0? If indeed the picture is “white”, then I suggest going to a manual mode and setting the exposure higher even if the camera’s exposure meter is hovering beyond 0. Hope that helps.
